Divorce without Drama Video Series

Springfield Collaborative Divorce, colleagues of the 3-C Family Services team and producers of the Divorce Without Drama series, have released a new video that focuses on a child’s perspective when parents are divorcing. Kerry Burleigh, a partner at the law firm, says events like holidays and birthdays can be overwhelmingly painful and typically cause internalized grief for children whose parents have separated.

In this latest installment of the Divorce Without Drama series, the “Kids Caught in the Middle” video provides a candid look inside the feelings and thoughts of these children.

Dr. Brian Mackey Co-Authors North Carolina Guide to Collaborative Divorce Proceedings


Brian Mackey, PhD, lead psychologist of Families in Transition at 3-C Family Services in Cary, has spent more than 10 years as a clinical psychologist working with children and teenagers to repair the trauma of divorce. For the past four years, he has dedicated much of his time to helping limit the trauma of divorce on children by participating in and promoting the collaborative divorce method. His extensive experience was brought to bear in helping to author the North Carolina Guide to Collaborative Divorce Proceedings.
