What is happiness?

Can you always be happy?

Happiness seems to come easily for some and is in short supply for others. It is a constantly changing and yet frustratingly temporary emotion. Would it surprise you that a recent poll reported that only one-third of Americans call themselves happy? Unfortunately, there’s no magic pill you can take daily to make yourself happy. People who are happy must work at being happy. Happiness is a required mindset change; a happy person’s life is not full of singing cartoon birds or perfect hair. Happiness comes from how a person chooses to respond to the world around them, the good and the bad. Happy people focus more on the positive, and that’s quite a powerful mindset when the world is perpetually a glass half full.

Self-Esteem | How Do You Value Your Worth?

Self-esteem is a term used in sociology and psychology to reflect a person’s overall emotional evaluation of his or her own worth. It is a judgment of oneself as well as an attitude toward the self. It is molded by thoughts, experiences, and relationships. While many still disagree on the definition, there are a few commonalities about self-esteem.

Are You Lonely?

Loneliness is a strong emotion and occurs within each of us at one point or another, perhaps after the passing of a spouse, moving to a new city, or starting a new job. Despite today’s society of connectedness through social media, feelings of loneliness and isolation are still felt, and many report feeling lonely despite having many friends. Loneliness at it’s core is reflective of the types of relationships and connections we have within our circle rather than the amount of friends we have in our life.
