Olivia Lynch, PhD, is a Clinical Associate Fellow with 3-C Family Services. Dr. Lynch is a North Carolina native and originally from Clinton, N.C. She received her B.S. in psychology and EXSS from UNC-Chapel Hill before completing a Master of Education and Educational Specialist degree in school psychology from the College of William and Mary. Dr. Lynch spent two years working in the field of school psychology for Onslow County Schools before beginning her PhD in health psychology, with a concentration in pediatric school psychology, at East Carolina University.
Prior to beginning at 3-C Family Services, Dr. Lynch completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship with Geisinger, a regional health system in Pennsylvania. She worked in two pediatric primary care clinics providing behavioral health services to children and families and collaborating with primary care providers and child/adolescent psychiatrists. Dr. Lynch is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist with extensive experience completing psychoeducational evaluations, functional behavioral assessments, and providing student counseling and teacher consultation services in schools. While at ECU, Dr. Lynch enjoyed working on multiple research projects in the ECU School Behavioral Consultation Lab and teaching undergraduate psychology courses. Dr. Lynch has provided psychological services in multiple health care settings in North Carolina. She spent a year completing neuropsychological assessments and providing inpatient consultation/liaison services at Vidant Medical Center. Dr. Lynch also spent a year working as a Behavioral Health Consultant at ECU Family Medicine, through a HRSA grant-funded experience. Additionally, she has provided outpatient services in the ECU Pediatric Outpatient Clinic, ECU Psychological Assessment and Specialty Services Clinic, and Tidal Integrated Health.
Dr. Lynch’s research interests relate primarily to behavioral parent training, integrated care, and school-based mental health. Clinically, Dr. Lynch has a variety of interest areas, such as working with children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, OCD, and school difficulties and working with parents of children with disruptive behaviors. She incorporates a variety of evidence-based theoretical orientations into her work, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Dr. Lynch prioritizes building rapport and establishing positive working relationships with clients and families. In her free time, Dr. Lynch enjoys spending time in nature with her husband, William, and their dog, Sadie. They’ve enjoyed exploring new local parks and trails since recently moving to the Triangle area.
